GATHERINGS.ro Terms of Service
Welcome to Gatherings.ro - Third party meeting places for social people!
These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of GATHERINGS's Community Resources including but not limited to meeting spaces, the Whatsapp Groups, and the official website at https://gatherings.ro.
By accessing this community, we assume you accept the terms and conditions shown below. Do not continue to use "Gatherings.ro - Third party meeting places for social people" if you do not agree to all of the terms and conditions stated on this page.
By participating in this community and at events, you confirm that you have read and accept the rules below.
⸻
🚨 INTERNAL RULES (GATHERINGS.ro) 🚨
Commercial, political, extremist ideological promotions are FORBIDDEN; they will result in an immediate ban. Social events and artistic events in which community members participate may be promoted, etc., but we are not a classifieds site nor a dating/matrimonial one.
Purpose: a safe, civilized, and friendly space for socializing (mainly between people who did not previously know each other), both in chat and at meetups/events.
Condition to keep free membership: Participate in person at least one time in three months at the events organized by the community members/admins (resets every three months -> event participation is logged within a privacy restricted spreadsheet, where only admins have access). A monthly donation of RON 50 for the community fund can extend this limit by one month, if needed and there is a reasonable justification.
Community funding: Participants can choose to voluntarily donate money to support the cause, logistics and overall organising of the events. The money is non-refundable and any contribution will be used solely for the community mission and purpose, not in other ways (i.e for personal benefit). We are a social pro-bono initiative but things cost money, so in order to lower the situations when the admins bootstrap costs (with community activities) only from their pockets, any community member's financial involvement is highly appreciated.
⸻
1) Access conditions (age and identity)
1.1. 18+ mandatory. We do not accept members under 18. Reason: events may involve alcohol and nighttime contexts, and the organizers do not want legal risks or inappropriate situations.
1.2. We focus on the youth as our primary socialising age range, therefore in order to allow similar activities and prevent unwanted generational conflicts, only 18-50 years old members are allowed to enter the coomunity at any time.
1.3. We do not tolerate falsifying age. If there are reasonable suspicions, organizers may request minimal confirmation for events that require presence of legal age (verification can be required via private message).
⸻
2) Values and principles
2.1. Respect, consent, common sense.
2.2. No discrimination based on gender, orientation, ethnicity, religion, age (18+), social status, etc.
2.3. No pressure on anyone: to drink, to dance, to stay late, to provide personal data, to go to a certain place.
⸻
3) Rules of behavior in the community (online)
3.1. Decent language. No insults, attacks, offenses, harassment, stalking, trolling.
3.2. No sexual messages, aggressive insinuations, persistent “pickup,” or explicit discussions that make people uncomfortable.
3.3. Do not send unsolicited DMs with sexual or insistent undertones. If someone tells you “no” / “stop,” you stop immediately.
3.4. No doxxing (personal data, addresses, numbers), no sharing private conversations without consent.
3.5. No spam, scams, aggressive promotions, shady links, “crypto/investment pitches,” etc.
⸻
4) Consent and personal boundaries (essential)
4.1. Consent is mandatory for anything: conversation, closeness, dancing, touching, photos, invitations.
4.2. “No” means no. “Maybe” or lack of response also means “no.”
4.3. Any behavior of harassment, intimidation, insistence, inappropriate sexual jokes, or degrading language = zero tolerance.
⸻
5) Rules at meetups / events (offline)
5.1. Safety comes first. We behave civilly while we are together as a community.
5.2. No aggressiveness, arguments, provocations, “alpha behavior,” threats, violent gestures.
5.3. No drugs / illegal substances in the community context. We do not organize or encourage such things.
5.4. Alcohol responsibly. Everyone is responsible for their own decisions. We do not encourage “binge drinking.” We do not tolerate dangerous behavior caused by alcohol.
5.5. We do not leave anyone vulnerable alone (especially if they are dizzy, scared, or lost).
5.6. Departure rule: if you leave, write on the community that you’ve left (simple: “I left, have a nice evening”), so we don’t worry.
⸻
6) “Drop / BAN” policy (how we intervene when a problem appears)
6.1. For safety reasons, organizers reserve the right to “drop” (remove from the community/event) anyone who:
• uses inappropriate / aggressive language
• makes sexual advances / jokes / innuendos or insists after refusal
• repeatedly creates discomfort or breaks rules repeatedly (even after admins notified them)
• becomes unstable/violent under the influence of substances (online or offline)
• breaks the rules or puts others in danger (causing physical OR mental disconfort, or both)
6.2. Depending on the situation: warning → removal from the event → ban from the community. Depending on admin free will the warning can be skipped and admins can proceed to ban from community directly. Administrators of Gatherings.ro community have full liberty to take full measures (remove/ban) if needed and they consider essential to protect other members and the overall community health.
6.3. For serious cases, 112 or the venue’s security (club/bar) may be contacted.
⸻
7) Reporting and help (simple protocol)
7.1. If you have a problem or feel uncomfortable/in danger:
• DM the organizer (e.g., Vlad) or the co-organizer (e.g., Alex) with “🚩” or the other ADMINS
• Briefly state: where you are and what happened, as many details as possible (so the decision taken will be equivalent to the gravity of the situation)
We will come to or contact you, in order to handle the situation discreetly.
7.2. Emergencies: 112.
⸻
8) Privacy, photos, and filming
8.1. We typically ask for consent. Nevertheless, this is NOT mandatory. We may sometimes post pictures from public events for promoting purposes on our official online pages or our website at https://gatherings.ro. We usually let people know when the pictures are taken so they have the possibility to not appear in them, but in order to clarify -> by being a member of our community EXPECT to have your pictures taken at any time (during community activities) and be distributed in offline/online media/website if the community promotion requires it.
8.2. If you take community photos, ask beforehand: “Is it ok if I take a photo?” and respect refusals.
8.3. We do not publish on the internet details that can identify people (full name, workplace, address, number, etc.) and may sometimes anonymise member's faces with artificial intelligence (if they ask us to).
ATTENTION! In order to preserve the anonymity of community members, we may use AI-type tools in photos or promotional materials after events/outings organized within the community. These tools may include, but are not limited to: face anonymization (pixel abstraction, replacement with other elements, etc.), and other.
However, anonymization does not exclude the fact that we are all real people, carefully verified by administrators before access to community. First and foremost, we are people eager to meet others in a safe environment and without problems of any kind. We take pride in having a very strict and efficient filtering/moderation before someone becomes a member and during the membership.
⸻
9) Common-sense logistics at events
9.1. We set meeting/regrouping points. We respect the times as much as humanely possible.
9.2. In clubs / crowded areas: a clear meeting point (e.g., near the bar / entrance / cloakroom).
9.3. Recommended: move in groups of at least 3 people, especially at night. Ideally do not move away from the organiser.
⸻
10) Disclaimer (clear, but reasonable)
10.1. The community is an informal social initiative. Organizers are not responsible for individual decisions (alcohol, transport, expenses, etc.).
10.2. Organizers are responsible for moderation and safety within common sense and their possibilities: we intervene, mediate, remove, and contact authorities if necessary.
⸻
11) Acceptance of the rules
11.1. If you do not agree with the rules or cannot respect them, please leave the community.
11.2. Thank you for helping maintain a safe space with good vibes.
